Context
Trakindo's legacy LMS had been used for more than five years. Its use was largely focused on training registration administration. The move to a new LMS created an opportunity to support a broader set of learning processes.
Challenge
Changing platforms required decisions about how people would use the system. User needs had to become clear workflows and technical requirements, while technical capabilities and constraints needed to be understandable to the people managing training.
My role
I define the system workflows, translate between users and technical teams, and manage the LMS vendor. I also coordinate with IT teams on LMS integration with the Budgeting System, SAP HR, and other enterprise systems. My contribution connects learning operations with implementation and integration decisions.
- Workflow definition: determine how user activities and administrative processes should work in the new platform.
- Requirements translation: turn user needs into requirements that the technical team and vendor can implement.
- User communication: explain technical options and constraints in terms of their practical effect on learning operations.
- IT and integration coordination: work with IT teams on integration requirements for the Budgeting System, SAP HR, and other connected systems, bridging user needs and technical discussions.
- Vendor management: coordinate requirements, clarify proposed solutions, and follow up on implementation issues.
Approach
I work in both directions between users, IT teams, and the vendor. Operational needs inform the proposed system flow; technical feedback is translated back into choices that users can understand and discuss.
The focus is on how the platform supports the learning process, extending beyond the registration-focused use of the legacy system. Workflow decisions, coordination with IT on connected systems, and vendor management are central to that transition.
Contribution
My contribution is to shape the workflows and maintain a shared understanding between users and the implementation team. This includes connecting operational requirements, cross-system integration discussions with IT, technical decisions, and vendor follow-up throughout the transition.
